Tennis and Twilight

Ooops. We get up at 6 AM. Not good. Having trouble staying asleep at night. We wake up often. But today, we have to leave early to get Arvid to tennis anyway.

We really enjoy the buffet breakfast. The staff is so nice and we talk to one lady who is very friendly. The clientele has changed now that it is Monday. Typically, hotels are less expensive on the weekends to accommodate families. Weekdays they are a bit more expensive for business travelers. I note that I am the only woman dining... Business people! There are also men dressed in bright green traffic safety like suits. There is construction going on and they are here for breakfast.

In an adjoining room, at 9:30 the staff takes an assortment of the breads, meats, cheeses, and fruit in for fika. The room fills up for 1/2 an hour or so when people come in just for coffee! Fun.

We make our way to the tennis center. The parking lot and the sidewalk are solid ice at 10 AM. How do these people walk? His partner is about 50 years old, a lefty and very good. He is obviously better than Arvid but ends up getting a great work out! Arvid kept him running and challenged. Arvid starts to go out in his shorts and tennis gear. We both remember... oh yeah, we are in Sweden! It's cold here!

We meet up with Karli and go to the centrum to the walking street. Arvid parks in an inside lot and we wait for him at the little exit. Right near there is a little restaurant. We go in. It is order at the front and has a menu up on the wall. We can't really figure out the menu. There are meats, veggies, potatoes, salad, but it's all mixed up. There are columns where each menu kind of repeats itself. Can't explain. We finally order what someone in front of us has. All of us have salmon, potatoes and salad. They also give you an apple and some candy. Fun place. One of the workers there is a girl who beams when we tell her she has an American accent rather than a British one. She has lived in the US, actually illegally so she says. She is overly friendly and wants Karli to stop by in the future.

We shop and shop and shop. We see a theater and check out what's playing. Not much that we are interested in. Then we shop some more and end up at a coffee shop, of course. Tired, cold.

We are having coffee and tea but Karli has a movie on her mind. Karli talks us into going to see Twilight. We go in late so obviously we aren't sitting together and miss the first part. It is really great to see the scenery since it was filmed in our area. The Swedish sub-titles are fun too. In Sweden you are assigned a seat when you buy a movie ticket. We are sitting on all aisle seats, on in front of each other. It is always fun to go to the movies in Sweden.

Back to the room to get some zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.
