We had our last breakfast here and made a point of saying good bye to the staff. They were very friendly and seemed to enjoy our conversations. We of course say to everyone... Think of us on Jan. 20. Know that we will be celebrating the inauguration of our new President Obama!
Karli is not ready, so we checked out of the room and hang out in the lobby. Arvid reading, and me on the hotel computer. I write to Julia, and catch up on lodge correspondence. I don't think we will have Internet in Dalarna.

We made a reservation at a Scandic in Örebro. (Er-uh-brew) I was trying to find the same hotel we stayed in 3 years ago but none sounded familiar when I checked them out on the internet.
Karli calls and we go over to her apartment to help her pack. She has a paper due on EN HERRGÅRDSSÄNGEN by Selma Lagerlöf on Jan. 5. So she has a backpack full of nothing but books and materials for that. Then she is packing for a possible 3 week vacation. Not an easy task. She has been studying for her test so she did not pack before now.

We go to the library and return books. We try to find a place to eat, but as I said places close lunch at 2 PM. We are past that time. We also want to get as close to Örebro as we can before dark. It is getting dark already so we decide to go to a pizza-kebab place on the way out of town. We start off at 3:30 after we eat and it is dark!
The only noteworthy event came over the radio speaker. Sweden has this alert system that breaks into your radio or Ipod or what ever and tells you of possible problems with traffic in your area. It is in Swedish of course. It comes on with this loud musical sound then a man or woman starts talking. He is warning us of an accident that is somewhere, we don't recognize the place. This is amazing to us that there is an alert system that breaks into your car automatically. You can't turn it off. It seems there was a problem with a moose.
We go to the city and try to find the Scandic. Usually, there is no problem finding one since they have big signs high up and are visible from far away. We do find it and it is very nice! There is a company party for Christmas underway and as we look over at the gorgeous buffet we consider crashing it! ha ha.
Karli gets a call from Ulla. We tell her we will leave ASAP tomorrow. She has the day off so we want to get there soon too. Arvid calls Richard and Kennon. He learns of all the snow from Richard, Kennon not home. He feels pretty hopeless. He knows how much work it is to clear everything. But he is also worried about snow accumulation, freezing pipes. falling porches, flooding because of snow melt, leaking in the lodges, etc. etc. etc.
The room is very nice, lots of wood furniture and curved armoire doors. CNN int'l of course. Ours is a couch that pops up to a bed. Karli's is a single bed all alone. How come she gets the good bed???? We get the idea that this is really a single bed room with a couch in it. So, it is very
small once our bed is out.
Bathrooms are always interesting in Sweden. Most all have heated towel bars, even Karli's bathroom in her apartment have the heated towel bars. The floors are usually tile and where the shower is there is no lip to trap water on the shower side when it is in use. They are like this. Then you are to use the squeegie tool to gather the water toward the shower after you use it.
