Ljusne for the last time

We get up later than we want but want to leave by 11 AM. We drop the key back at Hannas house. The weather is partly cloudy, wonder if it will snow...

Good Bye Östersund!

We pass many ski areas like the one we saw at Frösöbergit. It is amazing to see them so close to towns. It is also amazing to see all the frozen lakes. Of course Sweden is know for having so many lakes and now they are all frozen and glistening. There are moose warning signs everywhere but I think they are hiding.
We stop in Sundsvall to eat lunch. It is 1:30 so we park and walk around. There is one place where many bicycles are parked, and there are a couple of sparks parked right with them. They really use them here. They carry groceries, babies, all sorts of stuff while traveling on the ice. It is very cold and we cannot find a restaurant or cafe open to eat! We get directions for IKEA. It is very crowded but we head to the restaurant. We are surprised to find that they serve the same food as home, just with a different twist. I have chicken and vegetables that are cut up in tiny pieces and then stir fried with a yogurt sauce. We get some knives and bowls for Karli that she needs at her apartment. I want some of the long shoe horns that we see everywhere. We also buy candy for Arvid to eat.

It fluctuates in temperature between -10 C. and -5 C. We notice when we get to Solveig's that the snow pack is about the same. We have smörgås and then watch T.V. with them. Selma Lagerlöff again! This time it is rather like a documentary. We are amazed when the person being interviewed is the same one that lead the tour we took. It was in Swedish but as they showed each photo, it was easy to understand what they were talking about after being on the tour. I think they are having so many specials on Selma Lagerlöff because it is the 150 year anniversary of her birth.

Tomorrow we will go to Elisabeth's for a final send to Sabine in Stockholm for her to check it over. She wants to send it on the 4th (a day early) so we can have fun in Stockholm and go on a little trip to Helsinki on the 5th.
